Does anyone have an electronic copy of the 2004 owner's manual yet? I heard the programming options are different. Any of you lucky ***s that already have your 04 cars, can you tell us what the options we have regarding memory programming , please?
My MA gave me a sheet with 4 options:
Follow me home lights
Remote unlock (press1 drivers door, press2 all doors)
DRLs
Auto door lock when moving.

Aren't there others, like remote opening moonroof, rear hatch, ejector seats, etc?

Here ya go.....

1. Automatic door locking if doors are not opened
2. Automatic door locking after starting to drive
3. Selective central locking
4. Convenience operation (open and shutting windows/sunroof with key)
5. "Follow me Home" lights
6. Daytime running lights
7. Speed-dependent windshield wipers
8. Setting units for speed and temperature display
9. Setting units for automatic A/C
10. Volume control for Park Distance Control system
11. Acoustic alarm for starting PDC activation

This came out of my 04 MCS manual.

allow me to add:
2a) automatic door unlocking when ignition is turned back to 0 with parking brake on

auto locking without auto unlocking could be very annoying I think.

Also for 3), one can choose different settings for your remote and for your key in the keyhole.
My dealer hasn't figured out how to disable selective central locking with remote yet.
Has anyone able to get selective central locking with remote disabled? (one press on the unlock button unlocks all doors)

Finally there is a fuel level warning tone that can be enabled/disabled.

Wow, thanks. And all of these are dealer programmed? (of course if one has those options)

Selective central locking is not an option in 2004 as per Mini Peabody.

I just sent Gary an email asking him about it.
I called 866-ASK-MINI, and the guy actually put me on hold to talk to a tech guy. He came back and told me it is definitely still available, but they gave it a new name. That could be why Peabody hasn't been able to find it yet.

I know for sure though that putting my key in the door unlocks all doors at once. If that works, I can't see why it can't work with the remote......

All of the stuff I posted came out of my manual that came with my 04 MCS which I took delivery of less than a week ago (last friday).

It really kiils me that people are telling me that their local dealers can't figure out how to program certain features on the car. That is complete crap. I mean did they not get instructions on how to use their own programming equipment? Hell, I can be a bit of gadget freak sometimes, give me the damn programming tool and I bet I could figure it out!!

So far I have not had a need to change anything that was programmed into the car, However the manual does not mention anything about unlocking the doors when you turn the ignition off and put up the parking brake. I will have to investigate that further since it is a little annoying that the dors don't unlock automatically when I turn the engine off.

auto-unlocking has been working in my car since the day I took delivery.
It baffles me why this option is left out of almost all option sheets that dealers send to customers.
Thanks to MCO, I became aware of this option, and asked my dealer to program it in before delivery.

Now only if they could figure out how to program one button unlocking.....
