New Local Site & Event Email List...

Geoff aka (jst4fun) is going to d/c hosting bamamini.com. He has done it for quite a long while at his own expense & put much work into it which I know we have all greatly appreciated over the years

I am going to host a new site for us (at no cost since I can add it onto another hosting service I already subscribe to). The new site will be www.alabamamotoringsociety.com (AMS)

As of now it is up & running although a bit cheesy as it is free-hosted at godaddy. I hope to have it improved, finished, & looking a bit better by early August but until then the cheesy free site should do us

I dunno where everyone is signed up or with who what when where but...

I am going to try to start a new email list so I can email everyone when we name the monthly Meet-N-Eat place, plan rides, get togethers etc.... At first the emails may be sent from my home email addy but once I get the AMS site moved over to my paid server the emails will begin to originate from there.

Soooo anyone who wants to be kept informed of our goings on please PM me your real live name, your NAM username, & your email address so I can add you to the new list.

Thanks
Teresa

I have finally started a new board for us. It is a rough work in progress but I will tweak it & make it prettier over time. The link will be in limbo for a short while (less than a day) as the domain name is transferred to my regular hosting company. I don't know exactly when the transfer will happen but it should be resolved quickly.

Everyone will need to go sign up at the site (a.k.a. become a member) once the new site is up. I won't be keeping a massive email list any more but instead, when you join the site your email will be stored there & I will send out all announcements via the website. I have set it up in a message board format because that is what I am familiar in dealing with.

The url will remain the same... www.alabamamotoringsociety.com

Don't worry or do anything right now. Once the domain transfer has taken place & the site is successfully pointed at our new server I will send everyone an email telling them to go register. I will also post here once everything is complete

The site is finally up running. If you would... go there & join. When joining, be sure to use the email address that you want the group announcements to go to as I will now be using the board to send out all emails instead of using my personal email

I just clicked on your link and it takes me to a "Dude, where's my site?" page. Which begs the question, Where IS your site?

ll ll ditto

I was hoping to find a more present community at a local site so we can set up some motoring. Let me know if there are any good local Alabama sites I can join.

It looks like this IS the place for Alabama MINIs -- at least for now. I have a list of 10 or so MINIacs here in the river region. Some of us will be motoring with the British Motoring Club of Montgomery on a pizza run to Auburn on Saturday, January 28.
