JCW Stage 1 intake worth it ?

I'm wondering if anyone has some quantitative data on the JCW stage 1 intake ? Seeing as how the factory/stage2 JCW doesn't come with the 'improved' airbox, is it because of the more expensive air filter or is there really little or no gain from it ?

From the pictures it looks like the JCW Challenge cars use the stage 1 airbox so ....

there's a solid bit of info and saves money on the gasket & filter otherwise needed ..
