My '09 MCS was delivered without the (expected) MINI winged badge on the engine. While not a big deal, I think it looks kind of bare without it. Curious, I have looked at the pics of '09's for sale on Ebay and see that the JCW's always have the badge and an occasional MCS has the badge.

The 09 MCS loaner I had last month does have a MINI winged badge on Engine.

 

My MCS born on 5/01/09 is badged. I asked my MA about this and she didn't seem to know that some cars had them while some didn't.

 

My 09 MCS Mfd 10/08 does not have the engine badge.

 

I will tell you when i receive my ordered MCS.

 

09 MCS born 11/08 is winged.

 

No badge and born in January '09.

Bought a badge on ebay for ten bucks and am waiting for some time to stick in on the valve cover. It looks really stupid without a badge.

Picked up my yellow mcs just 4 days ago, 6/26/09. Also wondering why no engine badge....and I do want the badge on it. I did notice on the dealership lot, on some cars' window sticker, some said the engine made from France, some from Germany; transmission from Japan, England...etc. Would it be why some have engine badged, some don't ? If mini wants a few more bucks, I pay,, but let me know earlier...

March, 09 JCW no badge. Since I didn't even know there was and engine badge, could someone post a picture of what it looks like?

 

YES...picked up the car yesterday (build date of 6/09) and it does have a badge.

It was kind of strange when I picked my car up, some cars with similar production days had the badge and some didn't.

JCW's engine is marked as German origin.
Cooper S is marked as French origin.

I believe it is same motor.
I believe it is re-assembled in Germany with upgrades.

 

My Mini S was built in June of this year, and I have an engine badge! w00t!

 

My 09 MCS w/ march build date doesn't have the badge.

 

I picked up my car a month or so ago, and it has the badge. How can I know the date it was built?
