Hi All,
It's that time again. RMVR needs a little help working corners at the July 11/12 summer event being held at HPR (High Plains Raceway - Byers, CO).
Yes, I'm asking again, if any of the MINI folks want to spend some quality time on a corner or working our pit&grid area.
Training provided, lunch provided, dinner on Saturday night and cold beer at the end of each race day (Saturday and Sunday).
If you want to work on Sunday and come from far away (75 miles from track), we might be able to provide you a free room on Saturday night, (Byers Longhorn Motel). It is basic but clean.
Rooms are limited, so let me know soonest if you want to come out Saturday and stay over for Sunday to work.
You would have a roommate for the overnight so bring a friend and work Saturday afternoon, spend a night then work a race.
Dress for working a corner is long cotton pants, good shoes with good ankle support (leather works or other flame resistant material) and a long sleeve white cotton shirt or a neutral color shirt (light tan/off white). Shirts should be 100% cotton and comfortable. A good hat is needed, sun glasses, etc.
If you have some good work gloves with leather palms, bring them to use.
Mornings can be cool, a windbreaker or sweatshirt is good to start the day, think layers.
Bring sunscreen and water, the club does provide water on corners and the equipment van does come out to give cold water/soda during the day.
Expect to be on track/corner from 8:30 to lunch, lunch to 5PM. Normal day of corner working.
Biggest benefit is worker rides in Vintage race cars at lunch. Sometimes you can snag a ride in a well prepared car at lunch (like a 07 MINI Cooper).
Send me a pm or email via the message center here, if your interested.
You can read up on RMVR Corner Marshalls at this link.
Would love to see some folks come out and give it a try for a 1/2 day, day or all weekend.
Don
I know a windy and long posting.
