Seat height adjustment broken - anyone have a fix? or recommend...

As the title says, my drivers seat height adjustment has broken leaving me sitting way up high. Dealer wanted 700-800 bucks to fix !

I would be happy just lowering it in a fixed position but can't seem to force the sucker down and was wondering if anyone has had this problem and a "how to get my seat down".

My other option is a new seat and would be open to any suggestion on

a) buying a nice but inexpensive/moderately priced aftermarket seat
b) vendor recommendation that can sell me a complete kit for a mini.

Really need help for my head is rubbing on the ceiling

When I sold my seat on eBay (I has changed to aftermarket), the buyer bought it for the xact same reason as described. He won the seat for about $30 and just changed all the foam over from his seat to the one he won and re-fitted. HTH

Too bad this wasn't a couple months earlier..I threw away two whole MINI seat frames that I cannibalized for another project.
