the alta guage (prosport ) is about 170 and comes with the alta boost port (the only reason worth buying it...oh and the color matching that is has to our stock dash colors) i dont like alta at all.,.,but this guage is tailored for the mini..has the guage pod so it sits nicely on the tach...instuctions set up perfectly or our car (not generic)

mine is about a half pound off.,,which to me isnt bad and worth 300$ for a different guage

Thanks for the post. I agree our gauge kit is a nice combination of price and function. If someone wants to do a more expensive gauge, they can always buy the Pod Kit and Boost Port Adapter individually, then add a 52mm or 60mm gauge to it.

Sorry if you don't like us. I appreciate the business regardless and if I can help with something old or new, just let me know!

do you offer discounts for phillymini or NAM members?

i was checking out the gauge kits you offer and read the instructions and i'm 99% sure i'm buying the alta instead of dropping 480 for a promini

thanks,
Ricky

We have coupon codes (wait until tonight to place an order BTW!) generally running on our website that are better than the standard club discounts. If you want, shoot me a PM and I can help with any pricing off forum. Always happy to help!

Thanks for asking! You won't be disappointed.

I've had the Alta boost/water temp gauges for a while now and aside from a faulty boost sensor that was replaced, I've been very happy with my gauges.

my mini.

I had the Alta guage setup, and have switched over to Cravenspeeds Gauge Pods, with Defi Gauges. The Alta pods are alright, but the Craven pods are SCHWEET! And the prosport gauges were kind of on the lower end of quality in my opinion. But once again that is my opinion.

That's exactly what I was looking at doing. I thought the Ultra-lites would be a great match and now that I've seen yours, I'm sold on it. Nice setup!

These are probably the closest that I have found to matching the MINI interior. The are Marshall Instruments gauges from their SCX line. Excuse the crudeness of the pictures, I will try and get some better ones tonight.

BTW - I am working with them to create custom faces that will come even closer to matching the MINI interior. I will post some mock-ups later today. They have already started production and hope to done in the next 3-4 weeks.

That gauges that I purchased were:

Boost/Vac - $59.50
Oil Pressure - $64.50

The boost gauge that I ordered is mechanical, however they make an electric one as well. The boost gauge install is simple, merely tying into a vacumn line, although I don't know where for the R56. The oil pressure gauge comes with a sending unit that you must install, however I don't know where that is on the R56. I believe that both of the these gauge will work on the R56 as well, however I am not an expert so I would defer to the MINI community which I'm sure can answer this question.

Forgot to answer the mount question, it is the Cravenspeed Flexpod.

Thank you! Those look like the best match yet, especially for those of us with the chrome in the interior. I'm interested. Where did you get them?

I purchased them directly from Marshall.

You might want to wait until they finish their new faces they are making to match the MINI interior. You can see the mockups on this thread:

What color are the lights on the autometer Gauge? does anyone have a night picture? Does anyone know if mechanical or electronic is better? Adam I'm sure you have an opinion here.
