Suspension NM engineering spring write-up
NM engineering spring write-up
Alright, so a few weeks ago I contacted NA Motorsports and ordered the NM engineering springs. The springs came in about a week in a nice logo'ed box, with the nice new blue springs inside. I had to wait a few days for the weekend to install and it was killing me seeing them sitting in the corner. The install went like any other spring install except it took me a little short of 5 hours as i havent dealt with shocks for a few years and that was on my '48 CJ2a.

The lowering rate on the rear is excellent, but it didn't drop the front as much as i hoped, but oh well. Overall i really like the springs. I hear many people talk about different spring manufacturers that the ride quality degrades quite a bit, but i havent noticed and degradation in ride quality. They are quiet, no squeaks or rattles.

NA Motorsports is a great company to deal with and i fully plan to use them again in the future.
and just a few gratuitous pics i took today with my new tinting.

i have these too!! amazing springs!!
Like you said, no compromise in ride quality. It rides smoother and more comfortable than stock. In my opinion, they are the winner in springs for the R56. They make no noise at all...they are low, but not to low and performed outstanding at the track. Very nice, progressive spring rate and they even come packaged with recommended spring rates for daily driving and performance driving.
Could not be happier with this purchase. I got mine from Nick at NAMotorsports when they were running a special on them for 175.00!
Glad I jumped on it!

i dont know why my front is not lowered as much. i dont think i was sent the r55 springs as the instruction sheet and all the order sheets said r56. DT do you have the stock suspension or sport? perhaps that could be the difference? other than that i dont know.
I have the stock sport suspension, however, that only entails larger front and rear sway bars, not springs or shocks, at least not to my knowledge. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
Did you get it aligned properly? I have about 600+ miles on mine already, they have settled to a great height with no rubbing on 215/45/17 wheels and tires. Not even a rub on the track with a passenger!
You sure it's not just you?

uphill, thats why the front end seems higher...

More level, the car has actually settled alittle more since this shot...
Bump stops
I had these installed by a knowledgeable and well reviewed mini shop today. My only concerns with the work are that the bump stops were left uncut despite the NM Engineering instructions stating that they "must" be cut. When I brought it up he said he never cuts the bump stops because they allow the factory strut to bottom out on potholes when cut.
I'm not going to argue with him about it... I told him do it like he normally does it. However, the added true travel in the suspension seems detrimental to the ride quality.
Anyone want to give their input on this?
