Can I still get Lightning Blue? Need answer ASAP

On the Mini cooper website, lightning blue is no longer an option, but on carsdirect.com, you can choose lightning blue for the 2009 mini cooper s.

What is this all about? Can i really get lightning blue even though mini seems to have stopped making them??

If not, then I'm gonna go with Horizon Blue.

What do you guys think??

MINI stopped painting cars Lightning Blue in January or so.

There WERE some Lightning Blue '09s built before then, so it's definitely possible that you could find a new one on a dealer lot somewhere.

If you're set on ordering one, though, Horizon Blue it is!

LiB was deemed an excessively fast color and therefore discontinued it for now.
Sorry.

I thought it was because it made the Mini appear overly upscale and was killing their BMW sales ? (same reason you can't get the metallic Nightfire red on an S)
washed out Horizon blue for you

Who's website would you trust, the actual manufacturer of the car , or another source ?

Well, that too, but i'm fairly certain it's because the color is too fast.

I couldn't get Lightning Blue for my MCS either. I'm pretty obsessed with Superman and I thought the colour was a true "superhero" colour. My second choice was Laser Blue, so I went with it. The Horizon Blue is way too gray for me. The colour in real life looks nothing like the colour on the website IMHO. On the website (viewed on several different computer monitors on several different computers I might add) Horizon Blue always looked like it had a bit of a teal/greenish hue.

Not the case. I saw one on the dealership lot, and while it was a nice colour-- it was not what was portrayed on the website.

I've got an LiB 2009, but I ordered it last September. Man, has it been that long... feels like yesterday I was in 1st Gear tracking the ship.
I wanted a convertible, but didn't want to wait. Now I'm glad I "settled" for a sunroof, and I hope when I near 48k miles they have a blue on the verts that I like.

Horizon blue is a pretty good color man. I think you'll enjoy it!
Get one with an aero kit/jcw kit if you can.

I <3 my Lightning Blue. If you can't find one off a lot, that's unfortunate.
