How long did your pads last? I'm up to 79,000 miles

After over 4 and a half years, my brake pad warning light finally came on 2 days ago with 79,000 miles on the odometer. Has anybody had theirs last longer?

On a related note: Outmotoring's price for OE rotors is outstanding! They charge roughly half of my local dealer or independent shop would have charged me.

I had mine changed at 77,000 and they still had miles left on them. Light never came on, I just wanted something better than stock.

The fact that I drove 90 highway miles each day helps explain the longevity!

Second set, after I got into track days, lasted about 30K.

Our pads haven't worn out quite just yet, but I'd be surprised to get to 10k in Shawn and 16k in Tristan.

you guys are all so lucky. My sensor went about a month ago, and it was just over 37250 miles (aka 60300kms)!! My rotors are shot as well. Oh well, new Hawk HPS pads are on there way, with brand new Powerslot rotors (yes, just realised for R56's!).

These sure will last longer.

I'm at 65k miles on stock pads and rotors. Pads still had some meat on them the last time I checked. Definitely thicker than the backing plate. The rotors have a definite lip around the outside where the pads don't hit.

Lucky! I toasted my fronts in three days, and the rears might have one day left.

Silly convertible automatic...

So how does the OBC in the R56 know how much longer your brakes will last? Have they started using a different sensor than the one in the earlier cars that just activates when the pads reach a certain thickness?

I'm at 53k right now with plenty of meat left on the pads, and I have a 3,000 mile cross-country trip coming up in a few months, so I won't be surprised to hit at least 60k on my stock pads.

Are these stock pads?

I am currently on 6 track days on my Carbotechs XP12s/XP10s and they look like they could go for a couple more.
