I went to the site to check out the Monster Fluffies. I have a couple of questions:

"While soft and plush, it is equally absorbent. Detailing spray is quickly slurped up into the thick weave. The long fibers truly pamper your paint." - Why do you want your detailing spray to be picked up into the towel? We're talking about Hydro here aren't we? Don't you want it on the car?

"Through our testing, we have found that you can wash normally with your other microfiber towels, however the Monster Fluffy will remain so if you let it air dry." - Sound like you shouldn't wash the Monster Fluffy. What happens when it gets dirty and how do you restore it to its Monster Fluffiness?

 

I'm sure Heather or Nick will be around soon, but...

I keep a Monster Fluffy and bottle of QD (Z6, sorry) in my MINI at all times. The MF is awesome at picking up crap (literally) off the paint without scratching it. As for slurping up the QD - that's not a bad thing. When your towel gets soaked, QD doesn't work well, you have to sort of buff it off.

As for washing, they mean to air dry it, not to never wash it. Although I have to admit I dry mine (on low w/ no softner and only other microfiber) and it's just fine.

And as a final point - the MF is also great to have around for when you buy something that *just* fits in your MINI and you don't want to scratch your window tint - tape it to the corners and it makes great bumpers.

 

Detailing Spray would refer to Slick, not Hydro. Hydro is the spray wax for protecting the paint as you wash the car each time.

Ifyou've ever used a non absorbent MF towel with a quick detailer, you will realize that you WANT an absorbent towel. You want the QD to act as a lubricant to clean off the contaminants and you want the towel to pick up and pull away those things that can scratch the paint. If it's absorbent, it helps lubricate the towel and capture the particles in the towel at the same time.

As far as washing goes...you don't want to mix traditional cotton towels with microfibers. You wash them separately. Use a liquid soap in the machine.

To keep them fluffy, don't dry them in the machine dryer. That's all Heather is saying.

Regarding an absorbent towel with your QD, Richard stated it above. Plus, an absorbent towel helps you lay down the thinnest of layers. I know... it may sound strange if you haven't used a QD before or used one with both a non-absorbent and an absorbent towel! But it really is best.

Regarding laundering, as Richard also already said above, the description simply says that if you want to maintain maximum fluffiness you can allow the Monster Fluffy to air-dry instead of machine-drying it. You definitely want to wash all microfiber, including the Monster Fluffy, when it gets dirty!

The Monster Fluffy is machine-washable, just like all of our microfiber. I personally machine-dry it as well. The decrease in fluffiness by machine-drying is very subtle and does not affect its effectiveness at all. It's still very fluffy even after machine-drying.

MONSTER FLUFFIES ROCK!

Now that I have your attention, I wanted to add a couple of tips that I use when washing microfiber, specifically, the Paradise microfibers.

When washing, I only wash microfiber with other microfiber. They will pick up just about anything else that is in the washing machine, so washing with other cotton towels will fill them with lint.

In the rinse, I will put about a teaspoon of distilled white vinegar per towel, up to about 1/2 cup. This helps loosen a lot of the stuff that they are picking up.

When it comes to drying, I machine dry mine on low heat, or the delicate cycle and recently I have been using Dryer ***** during the dry. These are great because they tend to dry the towels more quickly with less energy and they also fluff them up while drying. All my Paradise towels are better than new (if that's possible!) They also act as a fabric softener (because you should NEVER use either liquid fabric softener or dryer sheets on microfiber or you will end up with streaking issues.

Anyway, there's my 2 cents!

I found, on another forum, some kind of glass treatment that supposedly kicks some serious butt. I think it's sold in Japan, but maybe it will be where you are as well. Let me see if I can find it and I'll send it to you. Sounds pretty cool!

Actually Taiwan right now. The detailing community is very different here in Taiwan than in other Asian countries...more production oriented and more primitive in a sense. Meguiar's Professional is dominant here. A single bottle of polish that costs $20 in the States is well over $100 over here thanks to high import fees.

I wish I had the time. I need them dryer faster because some weeks I have multiple cars to do and can't wait that long for them to dry.
