It gained me 20hp and around 30tq in the before and after dyno. You can also get the flashes available from helix13 or mini-madness. Or wait for another couple of years for a tune which everyone seems hyped about? Actually now to think about it, I would go for the flash from Mini-madness.

Lol, sorry you've come onto this forum at this time....

There are basically no tunes, so theres no need to worry about them being found out by your dealer.

If you don't unplug it yes....its a physical piece that plugs into the ECU...they'll see it.

But, most vendors don't even sell the UniChip anymore, cuz it basically never worked right.

Look around here to find some mods, or have your buddy call or email Dustin @ Autoxcooper. He helped me a lot with picking out my mods.

There are no reflash "boxes" yet that you can return back to stock. Hell, there aren't even any real reflashes. Hopefully we'll see more concrete information in the next few weeks. For now I'd say some of the best mods are turbo back exhaust, intake, and intercoolers. Seems like a good bang for the buck.

Seriously everyone of the mods hes done so far including suspension, voids parts of his warranty, if the dealer so chooses. Warranties as a whole are not simply voided, they would void covering any repair they can link to an aftermarket part, even if that part had nothing to do with the problem.

Well that would depend on the dealer, but again most would void if they can link them to the problem, also many dealership take notice and keep records of any observed mods for future claims. However, these are often considered safe mods because they are easily removed, and the chances of them causing any problems are remote. Still If I was going in for service and certainly any problems, I would remove them prior to.

This is the kind of propaganda that causes people to be very worried about taking their modded cars in for work. Honestly, if you have an intake and exhaust, those parts have to be shown responsible for the problem for them to even think of voiding your warranty. In my experience, the dealer has been pretty decent with bolt ons, and if they have no reason to think you have a reflash (boost gauge, other gauges, etc.), they wont be looking for it. If you have a big turbo on your car and blow up the motor somehow, thats probably not going to fly. But if you have minor mods and major issues, I don't expect this to be a problem. Honestly, people need to stop being quite so scared about doing minor mods.

you clearly dont work at a dealer or have ever talked to a warranty advisor.,.,catback is fine u will only have that piece non warrantable.,.,but an intake or turboback.,.,they will easily cancel all kinds of things on your warranty

i talked to my service advisor. he told me you can do almost anything that does not crack open the engine. and your warranty will be fine unless your car brakes and they trace it back to the aftermarket part. so if i was you id ceep all my stock parts then if your engine does say f/u put them back on and bring it in

of course,.,.these people are car lovers too and understand,..they'll tell u its no big deal and your warranty will be okay until something is wrong. all i am saying is it is much too easy to prove that an intake is the cause of your problem.,.,.anytime you have filters that let more into your engine than the stock one does you can have problems.,,thats all they have to say things like catback are harder to make those kind of arguments because everythings already gone through your engine and that is after the fact
i work for infiniti and know how dealers often look the other way on small bolt ons.,,but trust me one someone comes in wanting a new engine that costs $12,000 alone.,., they arent going to be so lenient

I have worked at numerous dealerships, including a MINI dealer. An intake and catback won't cause ANY problems. Heck, they install them for customers. They even used to do pulley installs for the R53 customers. I even had a belt snap on my pulley'd R53...they replaced under warranty.

If you go to a dealer that claims they won't cover something because of your aftermarket intake...take it to another dealer.
