Blacking out exhaust tips?

Whats the best way to paint chrome exhaust tips flat black? Best being defined as easy and/or cheap but will not peel or chip.

Thanks!

use the high heat resistance paint..the spray paint you use for grills should do..i had fun and used about half the can on my tips
havent chipped or anything..just make sure you scuff em up a bit and clean it really well..
you can buy it at wal-mart..and/or at home depot

Grill paint works great, I had some left over engine block paint and it works well also, no chips or cracks after 35,000 miles.

+ 1 sandpaper scuff + Grill Paint, or header paint from the auto parts store.

Just don't clean them at all...they'll turn black pretty quickly on their own

Well, I clean mine but did not scuff them and the high temp paint is working fine with two year and 25k of use.

Did my wifes Approx year and a half ago with grill paint. I used red Skotch Brite pad to scuff and have had no problems.

Another great option is to have it powder coated.
