Hi,

Need to confirm before I start that I can use Prima Finish, Epic and Hydro on my clear bra without damage. Is this the best way to protec the bra?

Also can you clay a clear bra?

Thanks in advance for your opinions and recommendations. This is my first clear bra.

I've been using all the Prima products on my clear bra for over two years. Still looks great.

Just be careful when you're claying the clear bra not to run the clay bar against the edge of the bra. You might lift up an edge every so slightly but enough to allow dirt and dust to start getting under it. Besides, you'll shred the clay bar and then you'll have to pick the pieces out of the edge.

 

As ChiliPepJet (aka CR&PW&JB) already mentioned, yes, you can safely use Prima Finish, Epic and Hydro, as well as clay, on your clear bra.

In fact, I highly encourage it! Claying and using Finish will not only deep-cleanse and prep your paint, but also your clear bra. Likewise, Epic and Hydro will not only enhance and protect your paint, but also your clear bra. Your clear bra deserves the same love your paint does.

Here's the small caveat: Be sure to take care in using any car care products (except for Hydro) along the edges of your clear bra simply because thicker products (ie, clay or Finish) or thin products (ie, Epic) applied to thick can cause some stubborn buildup along the edge which is a pain to remove. They're all removable but can be stubborn. Most people just work with the product carefully (avoid or apply thin) along the edge but others prefer to tape the edge.

Hydro is the exception to the caveat. Not only is it safe and recommended for your clear bra, it cannot and will not buildup along the edge of your clear bra at all. So, spray away freely!

But - and I can't believe I'm saying this - I gotta disagree on this point. As a big user of Hydro on a clearbra'd car, I can attest that Hydro DOES build up along the edges of the clearbra'd areas. Does it most significantly along the clearbra edges on my mirror caps. While I use the product sparingly, there's a limit to how little you can spritz on surfaces like the caps... and that tiny bit, when pushed around and absorbed by the towel, DOES collect along the clearbra edges over time. Mind you, this is with Hydro after EVERY wash, and the buildup takes 3-4 washes to become apparent. But it does happen, and requires me to go along the edges with a microfiber to get rid of the buildup...

This does NOT mean that I avoid those areas - just that I have to do a little extra cleanup once in a while.

 

Maybe if you didn't wash/Hydro every other day, you'd give the Hydro time to wear away before you piled more on... PAUL.

 

I'm glad that you know I welcome counters and disagreements! I haven't had this problem but then again I don't use Hydro every day (LOL) like you do! This is good to know. So it comes out easily with a microfiber though?

What about when you use Hydro on your toast in the morning??

Yep - doesn't get hard or chalky or anything like that... just becomes a soft whitish buildup that is easy to get rid of by running your fingernail inside a microfiber cloth along the edge...

And it's tasty on toast.

 

blimey- you stick with your little PDR guy in a can and not worry about Hydro.
