Pics of my 09 JCW aero body kit
Well my baby just got upgraded and more beautiful... This week i received my JCW body kit, the new kit with the front brakes cooling ducts in the lower grille. I got the prepainted version so it was ready to install when i got it.
I did it all alone in my garage and it took me about 6 hours. The hardest part was often uninstalling OEM parts rather than installing the new ones. It's all complete now and i love it... I also replaced my wheel arches with the european version, without the position lights.
Here are a few pics of the after...

The next step is probably coil-overs... Gotta lower that baby!

i was unaware that they included brake ducts in '09.
Do you know what colors can come pre-painted?
(i can't wait to pay off my CC bill so i can start putting some nice parts on my car...)

I cannot confirm for sure, but i am under the impression that you can order it any color match from an OEM R56 color.
Working on the chrome thing... This week i am getting carbon side scuttles from NVD motorsport, next will be the door handles and fuel cap.

funny you mention that... last time i went to the dealer to ask about the JCW kit.. he asked if i wanted it pre painted... I never thought this was possible. However... if it is, i will eventually go this route.
what was the price?
what was the price?
details
I ordered the kit from my Mini dealer and since stuff is way more expensive here in Canada, the price with taxes included is roughly $2500
Next step
Thanks! Now if only i can find some Plasti Dip here somewhere, i will do the door handles, fuel cap and headlight rings. Some of those might later be replaced by carbon but until then at least they will be "dechromised"!!
My parts guy at the Mini dealer was able to order them from Germany, your dealer should have the part numbers listed. If you need them just tell me
In the front, i left the lights into the housing but i covered the orange lens with black electrical tape, i then tye-wrapped it into the front area so that it is holding onto something and not loose. This way the hot bulb wont melt anything it would rest against (these get quite hot). In the back since there is more open space, i took the bulbs out of the housings and just covered them with black electrical tape. I checked on it, it does not seem to heat enough to melt the tape. I then again tye-wrapped the bulbs safely under the rear bumber.
If you just leave them in there no blanked, you will see some light at night between the fenders and bumper in the front and under the rear bumper.

The RealOEM site notes a "core" charge. Did they hit you up for either your old bumpers back or an extra fee?
No extra fee, i'm not sure what that core charge should be but i wasnt charged any.
right after i got my car i saw one of the arch lights was out...
i took it all apart to find that it was unplugged...must have forgot it or didnt plug it in enough somewhere before i got it..
i had no bulb out lights or anything
