Columbia Meet and Eat April 03 2009
Woohoo!! For anyone who didn't get enough German food in Helen.. this is the place!!!Julia's German Stammtisch

Meet at RESTAURANT (not starbucks) at 630 ish. We can go to Starbucks afterwards!!!
"I have know the owner/ cook since the early 1980s. She has watched my children grow up. She greets us with a big smile and a hug every time we are there. The food is BEST. It is prepaired on site with loving hands. Large portions and the best quailty you could want. great selection of German beers. It is a small family run place like you would find in Germany. Do Not come to this place in a hurry. You will not enjoy it. About 12 tables total. But the food is worth it ! !"
Pros: Great food prepaired by loving hands
Oh yeah and this place does not take plastic.. no credit or debit.. plan accordingly and bring cash only!
We did have a meet and eat here in August!! So.. get your lederhosen on and prepare to yodel!!

Hey everyone, sorry about my absence, my MINI and I had some trouble just before the last meet and eat. Back in November on election day...i think, just a few days before the meet and eat at the flight deck, I ran the MINI into a guardrail on 277 on the way home. Needless to say we didnt make it out to the meet and eat, I havent even been on NAM until about a week ago. I almost lost my MINI but with some time and effort, and of course money, now it is all fixed and ready to go, im even ordering new aftermarket parts for it 
Anyway I am looking forward to seeing everyone again since the last time we went to the German resteraunt.
...oh yeah i think i saw some of the minis from columbia at the basketball game awhile back, sorry i missed that whole event

Do our best to be there. Been really hectic...my father passed away this week...many, many details to attend to... he was 93...long and fruitful life. Most things will be getting back to normal by 4/3 (I hope), so a good German meal with friends may be just what the doctor ordered.

Jim, sorry to hear about your dad. I dont know what im going to do when my dad passes. He's getting up there in years too. So I couldnt imagine what your going through.
Sorry everyone, I lied I will not be able to make it to dinner. I am leaving thursday at midnight for New York. The MINI and I will be doing a huge car rally; from Columbia to MD, NJ, and NY. I just saw this post - I may try to make it - I miss you guys! I'm not sure as I don't know what's planned for us this evening. I have been awol from NAM for a couple of weeks - life is hectic here. Sorry I missed St. Paddys looks like you guys had a good time. I got a positive report from our CFO who lives in Columbia.
