WANTED: a working H/K amplifier
Yep, the amp finally pooped. I originally posted on the 2nd gen side and was lightly spanked before being properly redirected here.
So I figured the heck with getting a "part number" and instead, check to see if anyone had a working H/K amp for sale.
I checked E-bay, but couldn't tell if the ones that were listed were the same make as the one I need. Any info or offers would be greatly appreciated.

good question
Right now its making the typical 'pops' and quirky sounds when the HU is off and when the HU is on, it isnt sending signal to the speakers. I personally think this is some kind of pre-programmed malfunction designed to **** us American Mini Owners off.
Mini should put a recall out on these darn things, there are plenty of Motorists here in NAM that have made posts concerning this malfunction.

HK amplifier
I need one, too! Mine went a few weeks ago and I'm going crazy! I wanted to look for a cheaper amplifier, but my husband/navigator said that it would be hard to match the wiring harness. The board is capsulated and there's an adapter board - maybe we can order that from HK, but I'm not optimistic.
I am picking up my REPAIRED amp today if I can get there in time after work. Electronic Tech in Knoxville. I will post here after I get it reinstalled to let y'all know how it went, pricing, & etc. I am pumped up about this. My amp was having the same problems.
Thanks - I just PMed him.

I'll be very interested to hear about it - they are just so expensive new!
We'll have to wait a few more days..... I made it to the shop 10 minutes before closing, and he said it would take about 30 minutes to get it into the car and rebalance the speakers. He told me that the amp had encountered "moisture damage"....WTF? Oh, well, as long as it works & doesn't cost an arm & a leg.
True - if you've found a place that will repair the H/K amp at a reasonable price, that would be a godsend. Most times, people with a failed amp have to resort to either finding a used one on eBay or going with an aftermarket setup (I don't know of anyone that's actually sprung the cash for a new H/K amp.)
