Suspension X-brace underneath car

X-brace underneath car

What is the main purpose of the X-shaped brace underneath the car/exhaust because I have problems putting this back on with an aftermarket exhaust. Should I be concerned?

I would assume to make the car stiffer...

From: Orlando, my house is in fortlauderdale and im originally from da bronx

YOu can bend the plate or you can try putting spacers under the plate such as washers etc. That might make you a happy camper.
