I have removed my H/K OE HU from my 2005 MCSC and sold it to a guy with a 2003 MCS. His Mini did come with the OE H/K system. He has done the swap and it seemed to go ok. The problem he is having is that the HU is reading "NO DISK" . He has tried several CD's and MP3 Disks but nothing play or anything.

Any ideas as what i should suggest to him.

My unit was working fine when removed from my 2005 so i feel that the unit is in working order.

are you near this MINI owner? If so, swap back and see if it works for you still. I put an 05 cd player in mine so I could have mp3 capabilities...worked just fine and has for over a year not.

 

Unfortunatley im not near him so not so easy to check that way. I know that when he plugged in he had no errors as far as the unit being disabled and didnt aske for any codes of sorts. He said it will load a CD but it for some reason does not see it.

That's weird. I've swapped several head units without issue. Perhaps the optics got damaged in transit?

 

I know....I thought weird too. I know anything can happen just seems odd. Especially being it was working just fine in my MCS. I wish there was a quick reset or something to jump start it. I may end up having to refund his money and get the HU back . I dont want to do that but not much I can do about it because im sure he wont want to have a dealership take a look at it due to them wanting to charge him.
