Early last year I met a number of you when I was in the process of moving my family from Omaha, NE to Centennial, CO. That was June of last year, and little did we know then that the economy would drop the way it did in so many ways.

Although my wife, my dogs, and all my ‘things’ are in Colorado – I am still staying with family in Omaha until I can find my next position in the Denver area. I am a Fraud Prevention Senior Agent with PayPal.com – where I recently celebrated by 6 year anniversary. My desire is to stay within this field of ecommerce fraud prevention and risk analytics.

With more than 97,000 people unemployed in the Denver area, and having spent almost a year away from living with my family – I wanted to reach out to my fellow MINI owners for help. Take a look at First Data Corp (www.firstdata.com - http://firstdatajobs.com/) in the Tech Center. I don't know of any open positions at this time, but do know that they have several departments that would be a good fit for your skills and experience.

I had an interview with Western Union early last year, but as with most places the job market is not the best right now and I haven't seen anything since.

You know, I'd take a careful look at the skills involved in fraud prevention and search around for other fields that need the same things. I'd ditch the loyalty to the title and look at skills v. functions.

Such an approach will likely lead you to things like local, state, and federal governments. Department of Defense, has similar issues with identification authentication and all sorts of automation security matters. Take a look at USAJobs. Likely, any major corporation will face similar matters. Airports, etc.

 

And we can't wait for you to join us. July 11th is a breakfast meeting out at Byers followed by a day at the track for vintage racing and a possible parade lap or two.
As Mike said July 19th is our Castle to Castle ride and July 25th is a ride up to the casinos in Blackhawk. August 1st is the grand opening of the High Plains Raceway and then, of course, August 6th - Aug 9th is MITM.
We got more in store after that such as Ride for the Corners in September and Yalla Yalla in October.
You picked a great spot to move to and a good time to do it!

Good advice rrcaniglia - thank you. I think I could have worded my recent post to better state that I did in fact find a new job, and I start this Monday.
