Plasti-Dip question

I'm planning to 'dip my side markers ('cuz I want to leave the option of undoing it) but have already asked about how to keep the red in the "S" showing.

If I find that I can't cut the dip as cleanly as I'd like, I have a option in mind. I'm thinking that I can buty the "domed-S" stikers from Mike at Asthetic Creations and just stick them on over the dip.

Any thoughts as to how well these will stick on Plasti-Dip?

You can take the entire S out, plasti-dip marker then put it back on, looks good. There are pictures and details somewhere on here.

I did mostly what your are thinking, but I painted satin black.
I disassembled the side markers taking the S off, but just taping over the red part for paint. When I was done with paint I put the domed S from AC on top of the red S which was not painted.
My thought was that this way I was still putting the domed S on something more solid than new paint, but still did not have to worry about painting perfect.

I was thinking of doing the same thing with Plastidip on my side vent-markers. I actually painted them Semi-flat black without any clear and now one is chipping. Let us know how they come out. Would like to see the finished product

But...the question is will the replacement "S" stick to the plasti-Dip? I don't want to paint because it forces you to scuff the old chrome and I would rather not leave the sides of the "S" chrome

Plasti-dip is a rubber so I don't think the sticker will stick to well. If you spray it on thick enough you might be able to cut the S out, not sure. IF it doesn't work peel it off.

I put on the dommed S from Asthetic Creations directly over Plastidip and it adhered very well. Been on for 20K+ miles, no issues and they look great!

I taped over the red part of the S, then PlastiDip'd the whole thing. I had to cut the tape out with a craft knife just to ensure clean edges, but otherwise it went pretty well.

Lowes, black, white and red. You might be able to order special colors.

my markers are plastidipped, and then i stuck on the red dome stickers from Aesthetic. they are still on there almost a year later.

If you mask with plastidip its best to remove the masking before it dries, since it doesnt like to be cut easily.

Colors available include red, yellow, blue, black, white, and clear. it is able to be mixed like paint. so theoretically, you could make silver.
they actually make a "create your own color" kit. which allows you to make whatever color you think of.

Others have answered this but you can google "plast-dip" and you'll find the company with all the details. Note Most peaple buy the spray can version, but you can buy a liquid version and mix it like others have said.

open the hood, push the back from the inside, and pull it out from the front. it takes some force though
