A Winter Walk, Deer, and My Car

Well I've been giving the camera a little bit of a workout lately. First off, last week Alexi and I took Sherman around one of the local parks down here in Cincinnati during the snow storm. So I guess I will share those first.

Then Yesterday I went on a drive to check out a golf course that I applied to. It is a very exclusive private club in the richest part of the city, so I brought my camera along just in case I found a cool spot to take pictures at. While I was driving through a park there were 3 deer right by the edge of the road. So I drove off and put my camera together and then came back and to my surprise they were still there. I then stumbled upon another one as I was circling around to get some more pictures.

Here are my favorites of that bunch.

Finally I stopped and took some pictures of the MINI since I just cleaned it. Unfortunately while driving around it got dirty again so yea...

YIKES... looks like a rough winter in Ohio !! Keep that stuff over there, please.

Great pics though !

By the way, your deer look skinnier than our deer. Not enough to eat there in Cincinnati ?

Great pictures but you can keep the white and frozen stuff up there. Is Sherman an Aussie? He's beautiful!!

haha, yea winter has been pretty snowy here this year. It's alright because it's better than what we usually get.

And yes, Sherman is an Aussie. More specifically he is a Blue Merle Aussie

Figured he is a blue merle. I have a blue and a red merle. They are not near as furry as Sherman. They don't need that heavy a winter coat down here.

So I imagine they don't shed as bad then?

Very nice set of pics. Like the one of the tree cravings and the 1st of your MINI too. Great markings on your Aussie too.

No they probably don't shed as bad but with the two of them we all wear dog hair. I am well trained, before I can sit down when I get home I have to go out back and throw the ball, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Sheman looks to be good sized, mine are mini's about 25-30 lbs each, both are rescue dogs.

Looks to me like it was captured directly on the camera's sensor. Join the huge strobist community if you'd like to know how to light like this. I'd venture a guess that Scott has been busy practicing his lighting for awhile.

Thanks for sharing those photos with us Scott! I really like the ice photos as that's something I never really see here. And I concur, you can keep that white stuff.

Now I'm wondering how the nice pooch will be featured in this month's contest?

Thanks, I've walked that path a bunch of times but never really noticed it.

Awesome! Sherman isn't exactly a ball fetcher. He'll chase after it but as soon as he gets there his ADD kicks in and he finds something better to do. With frisbee's he's even worse. haha

No sir, like speednut said these are straight from the camera. I'm glad you like them.

You are absolutely correct. Strobist.com was my home during college. I spent hours on there when I should have been studying for my major! I haven't quite figured out how I'm gonna get Sherman and the car together in one shot but I have an idea. Sherman absolutely loves the camera so I may just bring him along and let him figure out what he wants to do.
