Gear **** and hand brake lever 2003 CS

How do you remove the gear **** off a 2003 Cooper S? I ordered a JCW CF **** and hand brake lever from New mini stuff. I would prefer to know what the details are before tackling this and perhaps breaking an important clip or something.

Same goes for the hand brake lever.

PS. Also if there are anything special I need to know about removing the down tubes, please let me know

Thanks much in advance!

For the shift **** just pull really hard in an upward motion. And I do mean hard.

E-Brake handle: the **** on the end of it pulls straight off and then there is a tab underneath that you will need to pry off and then it will slide off. I think you will need to take the boot off as well but I can't remember. If you do need to it is clipped in around the bottom along the trim piece/cup holder.

if you put a flathead screw driver between the bottom of the **** and the lip it rest on and give it a twist it pops loose without all that pulling
