Third brakelight blow out - replacement suggestions?

Well my '06 LY Buzz is rounding third and heading for home at 26K.

I've now moved a bit more "north" where Buzz has handled blizzards admirably well, toted his share of felines to various shows across the Region and started without fail on subzero mornings (Ok, I did upgrade and get him a garage!). Only real complaints I've had is we've been thru three windshield washer fluid reserviors, that sprang mysterious leaks - these all occurred in the summer....other than that its been super motoring without problem and Buzz's lease expires in April, so we have a new Chili red in the oven right now.......would have gone for the yellow again, but I think it looks like a school bus yellow this year !

However, a recent problem arose right after he went in for his 25K check. The dealer washed him and I'm not sure if the cause was due to water getting under the gasket of the third brake light, (but thought this might have happened earlier in his life just as well with the mountains of snow that he's endured on the roof) but the day after trip to dealership, I came out to the car after work and the third brakelight cover was gone - like no shards of red plastic or anything - just bare bulb sitting out there exposed -don't know if the cover broke/shattered on the way into work or what, but it's definitely gone.

Anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions as to where I can get new cover -advice on good after market parts store???- short of going to dealer (only bad part of move - really dislike the service at my new "hometown" dealership) they charge for little things my previous dealer didn't (washes, etc are not part of the courtesy package there and it's essentially a BMW dealership, w/Mini's sold on "the side" almost it seems. Mini's owners are treated like third world citizens!

Sounds like the car is under warranty; the dealer will replace the light at no cost; not your fault it fell apart!

That is true, should be warranty. They come off when going past the drier at the end of the car wash. It happens
