who says they dont fit?? any single din will work in the factory location! go over to http://www.crutchfield.com/ they have plenty of CD players that work you may need a wireing harness adapter as the new unit wont just plug into the car like the factory one but they have them as well!

OEM units come up regularly on eBay at reasonable prices.

I have a 2003 OEM head unit. It's in great shape. I bought this extra one as a spare part. PM me if you want to take it over.

Not to totally steal this post or anything...but I have a question for all you stereo gurus...
My car is a July '02 build. I have the Hi-Fi stereo, which has operated flawlessly since day one. I want to play my MP3 player over the stereo, and am not satisfied with the quality I get out of the FM transmitter option. I went and purchased the aux. output plug in that fits on the back of the stereo from Moss. Got it yesterday, says right on the package for 9/02 build and newer. I crossed my fingers and plugged it into the back of the HU anyway. It is not recognized.
My question to you is if I purchase another HU (that is 9/02 or newer), will the wiring harness still be the same as my car, or am I going to have to rework things? If this is just going to be a simple unplugging of one HU, and plugging in of the newer one, will the car display -disabled- when power is added? How new can I go with the stock HU...at what point in production do they change the stereo wiring harness?
If I can just unplug my stereo and plug in another, who has a good used one for sale? I have been on eBay, and know what I can probably get one for, just would rather deal with someone on here.....
THANKS!!!

Headunits for all years are compatible swap. If you get an '05 or newer HU, the CD player can also play MP3 discs and the unit has extra display capabilities useful for add-on adapters such as the DICE iPod adapter.

Not true, not all single DIN units will fit.

All of them have a depth measurement on the site. Some cars have a shalow space, some have a deep space and will take any unit.
