02-04 vs 05-06 HID Lighting
I was just curious, after searching I could still not find an answer.
Is the lighting output on the 05-06 projector HIDs significantly better than the 02-04 reflector housing HID setup?
I would like to upgrade to the 05+ style, and knowing if there is a difference in lighting output (live in the country) would be kind of the pushing factor for me to go do it

I had an 03 with reflector Xenons and now have an 06 with projector Xenons. The first time I drove my 06 at night I noticed a difference in the beam pattern and edge cutoff but in regards to brightness, there isn't a significant difference. The D2R bulb in the 02-04 isn't that much different than the D2S bulbs in the 05-06. I don't believe it would be worth the time and expense. If you live in the country and need more light, get a good set of aftermarket driving lamps.
