Its easy....i found out the hard way and broke my mirror. If you tilt the rear view all the way UP and look durectly under the mirror you will see two tabs. I used a small screw driver to release the tabs, then just pull fron the cap (at the bottom) and pull out and up....and presto. 10 seconds and your done. When your done just pop the new one on.

just take off the mirror and you will be able to do it very easily-
same thing- you tilt mirror all the way up or all the way down, stick your fingers under, and pull out, mirror will pop off.. and you will see all the clips and which way to move em... pops off easily- put something on ground or get a second pair of hands to be ready to 'catch' the cap incase you drop it

You do not need to take the mirror off. Just push the little tabs in, I did it by myself but it is easier with two people. Each person pushed in on a tab and just pull the cap out and up. I posted this thread after I broke my mirror. I did exactly what another member told me to do and I broke the mirror. I do all the work on my car and rebuild cars so I am not a weekend warrior. I spoke to quite a few who did exactly what I did. No need to remove the mirror, after another member told me how he did it I had it off in 10 seconds.
