JCW head vs "tuned" head from some guy :)

Hi.

I have a BIG BIG question...

Forgetting the $$$ what would you do?

Install a JCW Head that i know that is in perfect shape

Or.

Give a stock cooper S head to someone to try to port and polish it?

or even(but not probable)

Give the JCW head to that guy so he can make something even better out of it?

This would be to install in my mini one.
I am going to install this with a Newman Camshaft.

I already have extensive mods in my car and right now i'm around 140bhp.

Thanks in advance!

For sure not the JCW head....the casting is so close to stock it's not even funny. Go the other way with some p-p work. I have head that I've done capable of 225whp with Jan's cam and tune with a pulley and OBX header. Lot's of restrictions on a stock head.

Without knowing the credential of the "some guy" I would go with the JCW. If the "some guy" is a well known tuner like Jan, go with that.

Have you seen the ports on a JCW head? When those kits came out for a JCW package with a head, SC, exhaust....whatta ya think made the most difference in the kit....certainly not the head. But it made it so they could justify the big dollars associated with the kit. Supercharger pulley #1, and different cam...Head casting was still way rough.

Not that I'm saying that I am "some guy" but just putting on the JCW head vs. leaving your stock head on and saving all that cash. I've pulled apart way too many to see that just about anyone with a brain about flow could make improvements to the JCW or stock head.
