Pure Silver exterior mods

Hey guys, I bought my PS/B/Chrome line R50 in June from a private party. I like the stealth-mode of the Pure Silver body color, but everything else is black. I'd like to make it look more unique, but I don't want it to look like a Raiders helmet. I've ordered the white side indicators already. Any suggestions? Everyone has such awesome-looking MINIs around here, and I like what I've seen in blacking out, but again, I don't want it to look like the Raiders threw up on it.

Caveat: no lowering. I know it might be unholy around here, but my last car had Tien springs on it and it was a fricking nightmare.

Thanks guys!

I really like your car's aesthetics "as-is." I understand the "Raiders' helmet" concern, but I don't think you have any worries unless you use a full-length single center stripe, or put a bunch of skull-and-crossbones-style "shield" type of emblems.

Check out M7's front grilles. Not everyone loves them, but I really am happy with the black ones I put on my CR/CR '04. They come in black or silver. Either color could go with the PS.

I do like those grilles. I think a silver would go nicely with the chrome. Thanks!

I had the same problem with my Solid Gold/Black Cooper. I had too many people asking me if I was a Steelers fan.

If you are not into the blacking everything out route, then I'd stick with the chrome. Mark's suggestion to get the M7 grill is great. I think a silver one would look awesome on your car.

Hey PureWorks, are those extra lights in your lower grill? They look like reflectors from a U-haul.

Seriously though, your MINI is sweet. The solid silver is really cool.

PureWorks, your car looks amazing! Where on your car is that Mike Myers sig?

Fatherdeth, I've been trying to come up with a clever line about real football, but it would probably fail anyway.

I think I will look into Mark's M7 suggestion. I think it'll look much cleaner.

Just curious what car did you have them on and what made it a nightmare?

The ex put the springs on my Honda Civic. I asked him about a sway bar but he said the springs would be easier to start with.

The problem was that after he installed the springs, not only was it about 1/2" too low (I hit everything, no matter how careful I was, since the exhaust tip was curved down), but the rear had about 5 degrees of camber. He promised he's install a camber kit, but he never did. And there was constant creaking. The rear tires got scalloped from the uneven wear, and even after tire replacement, no one wanted to buy it with the springs. So I had to fork out $350 to have the stock springs put back on -- I was desperate for my MINI!

shouldnt rule out springs on a MC! a good set of H&R springs will give a nice drop with out all the problems you had with the Honda! I have seen too many lowering jobs go wrong with Honda's! as far as the constant creaking sounds like someone didnt know what they were doing installing them!!!

The red grills are actually air ducts to the brakes. I have since resprayed them 'chrome" along with the aero side grills.....tried something different, and ended up sticking with the original all Pure/Chrome theme.

I believe i have a pic of the signature in my gallery...it's on the driver's side lower panel

Wheels!

Get some new wheels! I had Team Dynamics in High Power Silver on my old PS/B MC. They looked great! Black would look good too with the black top.

Also... +1 on the M7 grilles. They're sweeeeeet. I always wanted them for my last MINI.
