Picked up my CR/W MC at Roadshow in Memphis on Monday. After visiting relatives in Eastern Arkansas I got home Wednesday afternoon. Got about 420 miles on the car now and so far everythings fine.....a few observations:

1. The new cup holder was installed when I picked up the car and I like it. Good of MINI to do this to try and keep customers happy.
2. First tank MPG an on-board computer is 29.4.
3. Ride quality with the run-flat Dunlop's seems fine to me. Not much different from the MC I drove with 15" non-runflat tires.
4. Lots of folks looking and some waving as I go by. The first person who walked up to the car and started talking said, "is this a PT?". I looked at the next PT that went by trying to see how he could think the MINI was one....beats me.

I do wish I had asked to have daytime running lights activated. I didn't think to ask and they didn't ask me. Now I'm afraid they'll want $40 to do this when I get back to the dealer.

I noticed on one of the other threads someone is selling their MINI and mentions the car is a "fad". If this is true, all I can say is I'm very happy to be a part of the fad.

Congrats!! I am planning to order an 04 MC from Roadshow soon. How was the buying experience? Did you get a good deal, or they make you pay way above MSRP?

Well Robert, it's about time. One of the posters last week said they seen your car at the dealer and I thought any day now, we will hear from Robert and his NEW RIDE.

Congrats on your new MINI. Now go out and rack up some quality miles on it. Hey, I have driven in Arkansas and you folks have some great roads to motor on. Be safe, and have fun.

Congratulations!

Question...why do you open so many new discussion threads? For consistency sake, can you stick to one thread and keep everything there?

Just an observation.

Happy Motoring!!! The PT thing kills me too... I think people are uncomfortable in a state of "not knowing". Their heads have to associate this car with something that they do know...

God speed.

Robert - Tnx for the PM on the pics.
Congratulations on picking up your new baby. She's a sharp CR MC. We enjoyed seeing her on Saturday before you arrived. Glad we had clear weather and so sorry the drag races were rained out.

Drive her a lot and perhaps you will educate your fellow Arkansas residents on the whats and whys (joys) of owning a FAD like the MINI.

What a great feeling- bringing the new baby home. Congrats. Re: the running lights: I enjoy being in control, so switching the lights on, along w/ the front fogs, is part of my startup procedure, day or night.

Congrats on getting your new MINI...ain't it great!!!!! I don't use daytime running lights, but have known local owners who have gone into the dealer and had programmable options updated at no charge. You might check in soon and see...but I'd be optimistic. Read up on any other changes you may want, too 'cause once they plug their little hand-held computer in its just click, click, click and they're done!!!
