Interior/Exterior Thanks to AZblackOUT & His Crew (Carbon Fiber Bonnet & Boot on '06)
Thanks to AZblackOUT & His Crew (Carbon Fiber Bonnet & Boot on '06)
I just wanted to say thanks to those who helped me w/the install. Seriously, couldn't thank all of you enough. For those who may have been told the Seibon bonnet & boot doesn't fit a 2006 Cooper S...well it does
These are the first pics I've posted on NAM, the quality isn't very good. A few exterior mods on the way...M7 grilles, euro arches, Koni fully threaded coil overs & 5Zigen rims (black). I'll be getting rid of the SportMaxx rims on my car.

Sweet! So what's the weight reduction with the bonnet swap? I guess your not going the paint them.
I read on the VIS site that theirs require the use of hood pins to secure it. I haven't noticed anyone using them though. How do yours incorporate the "bracket thingies" that the bonnet latches hook onto?

From what we have gathered its about 9lb weight reduction...I swear it handles better with bonnet and boot swap, probably my imagination. And no I'm not going to paint it. Well it doesn't require hood pins, I read that too and was nervous. We did have to move the hood latches(hood releases) forward about a 1/2inch which requires dremmeling, because the factory doesn't allow that much movement. The boot was a breeze to put on.
Lookin Good!
Yeah with the latching...its going to be different with every hood...The stock latch has SOME tolerance...however with this hood and one other on an 03 I did, it did require movement outside those tolerances...
Glad your enjoying...
And dude, you did paint it!

Definitely don't want it to do that.
