Had the windows and sunroof tinted on my '09 MCSa today

Today I had the windows and upper part of the front windshield 15% tinted plus the sunroofs 5% (darkest possible) tinted on my '09 MCSa.
Front:

Side:

Back:

Next up will be the clear bra for the hood and side mirror caps.

It looks very nice, but be careful with the cops. Bored cops are pulling over people here in FL with tinted windows that are well below the legal limit. 5% limo tint is illegal for the front windows and maybe even the side rear windows as well.

In order to avoid harassment and a ticket, I went 28% fronts and 15% in the back. Seeing out at night with 5% is a PITA.

May I ask who installed your tints? The guy that did mines is very good and skilled, but he also installed the clear bra in my Clubman S and unfortunately had a problem with the quality of the film. When I asked the guy to replace the film he refused to stand by the product that he sold me. Llumar, the manufacturer of the clear bra film also refused to honor the "lifetime" warranty. For this reason I will never give this guy business again. After tons of referral business he kicked me in the groin

If doing the clear bra, stay away from Llumar. Also make sure that the installer will stand by his product/installation in case of problems.

Good luck and again, be careful with the cops and those 5% tints.

I can't believe the installer wouldn't stand by his work! That's crazy!

Since the Law Enforcement People like to have a clear view inside as they approach your vehicle; wonder if having Sunroof wide open, windows down and extra bright interior lighting might avoid a 'tint' ticket.

Thank you

Tint World in Tamarac,FL (www.tintworld.com) has done all of my former cars including my last one '08 CR/CR MCSa.The 3M premium window tint is the same and is legal but looks very dark in those pics due to it being overcast yesterday. The sunroofs have the 5% tint to cut the bright sunlight and naturally the heat.

The clear bra I am just going back to Auto SuperShield (www.autosupershield.com) to have the 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film clear bra installed like I had on my '08 MCSa.

And that really sucks to hear about the problem you encountered with the installer of your clear bra and Llumar as I would be furious too!!

Pepi is the best isn't he? Best part is he completely stands by his work and the product too. I went back to him because a small part got some dirt under it. He replaced the entire clear bra bumper and bonnet, I was so impressed I had him do the leading edge of the roof too.

That looks Hot! I wish I could do that in Maryland. But I find that if it's not 35% its just hard to see at night. Anyone else have that problem?

IMHO, window tint should be a factory option.

Looks real good with your exterior color but I'm bias.

You know it really should, especially since many factories do it. Like my Durango has limo tint in the rear from the factory. But you can see through it great at night. Then cops would not mess with people.

The windshield stripe will differ according to the curvature in the glass. The Mini has tremendous curvature so I had the tint cut straight across the windshield so that the strip was not in the "proper" place in the middle and almost at the bottom of the windshield on the sides

Thank you all for the additional posts and comments

Regarding the tinted upper windshield strip in the first pic posted above I did notice while driving that the seam was right in my line of sight which did bother me and it wasn't like that on my previous '08 MCSa that they also tinted.I called them up and they agreed it was on the long side so they trimmed it back.
