Who else is a long time MINI owner that took a pre-spec back in MY2002?

How's your MINI doing? Any regrets about taking the pre-spec vs. waiting to custom order? (no regrets here) Anyone have one of the limited edition numbered Canadian MINIs?

We were (and are) the pathfinders for the MINI in North America. I just thought it was time to see how things were going over a year down the road.

Sorry but I'm not a member...I count myself within the first of the customer-specced cars, ordered April 27th, 2002...delivered July 18, 2002. I was never offered a pre-spec and was 14th on the general wait list, but for an S. The dealership was hoping for walk-ins to grab up the pre-specs and of course they loaded them with CD changers and lojack systems...that's business. I'm glad I waited another month.

I have a July build 2002 Cooper. Bought off the lot PS/b Sport Sunroof Over all quite pleased with it. Approaching 21000 miles. a few problems but nothing major. Biggest complaint is distance to dealer 200 miles. BMW/MINI really needs to let the BMW dealer network do warranty work. Good programming in the ECU also. Wish I could say the same for my 03/03 S

 

I'm not quite a Pre-Spec club member, but ordered my MCS in Jun 02 with Aug 02 delivery. The car has been awesome. Mine was the second sold by my dealer for Military Sales in Germany...

I'll be putting it on the boat for the long trip back to the states next week.

 

Yes I have a March build pre-spec. I have absolutely no regrets after 30k on the odometer. I got all the options I wanted and a short 3 week wait to boot.

 

Do I wish I would have waited? Nope. I am very pleased with the MINI I have.

If I were doing it again though, I don't think I'd get leather (space cloth instead), DSC, or the sunroof. Also, I'd most likely go PS/PS instead of DS/W. That's just quibbling though.

Even with all my windshield problems, I'd get another MINI when the time comes.

I've got a "preemie" also. Absolutely happy with the options it came with. (Probably would love it if it was completely different.) I will either keep this car until one of us dies, or I something will convince me to trade for a new one down the road.

 

June 2002 DS/W #1,#2, Lapis leather prespec (with xenons!) currently awaiting a lemon law hearing.

I'm a pre-spec. Ordered in March of 02 and took delivery in May of 02 :smile:

Now this is what I call exclusive! ONLY 9 of us?!? We will have the best resale, not to many of us around…apearently.
