Huntsville, Ala Christmas Parade Dec. 6
Ok here is some info on the Christmas parade, thanks for letting me know who might be able to come, if you are not sure you can still come just have to show up. I will make extra things to go on the cars or you can do your own thing it up to you.
We will meet up at the corner of Governors Drive and Clinton Ave. at the city gas pumps at 9:00am and leave out at 9:30am to the staging area. Why so early you ask well in the past it is easier to get in the staging area and time to set up the cars, the closer you get to the 11:00 the time they want you to be staged by the harder it is to get in. You have so many people trying to get in and set up their stuff it's hard to get around.
but if you can not make it the meet up time you can still be in the parade just follow th edirection below the get to the staging area:
To get to the staging area you come down Clinton Ave. turn left on to Woodson Ave. up Woodson just a bit turn right into the gravel lot tell the staging people you are the the rocket city mini club and they will tell what our place in the parade is fine us and we will get your car done.
If you come down Holmes Ave. you will turn right onto Woodson Ave. and the staging area is on the left.
Last year we were near the front of the parade and was done by 1:30pm the year before that we were in the middle and was done by 2:30pm I'm not sure where we will be this year as soon as they make out he list I will post.
The parade goes on rain or shine unless it is a down pour if it is dizzling please still come, if it cold bring warm drinks and things the keep child from getting to bored, their is port a johns for bathroom breaks.
Young and old are welcome in the group just make sure the number of people in the car well not bother the driver, please their is NO throwing of anything from the car to the crowd this is for the safety of everyone.
You can dress up in any christmas costume you would like but not Santa Clause their is own one santa and he comes at the end of the parade, this comes from the parade preson in charge.
If you have not been in the parade it's a lot of fun and the people that line the roads have a lot of fun with the car, I look forward to see everyone
