Christmas is almost here and my wife wants to get me a Mini related item. My first thought was a nice car cover since we only have a two car garage and three cars. My Mini would be at my next door neighbor's house since it is not a daily driver. The problem is that I would like to protect it some what since said neighbor has a youngster that might by accident scratch are mar Greta's finish. Another concern is that the cover itself would harm my Mini's finish. I would not be putting the cover on a clean car all of the time. (NY state uses tons of salt in the winter!)

I was also thinking that I need a radar detector even more. I have been motoring around unprotected for way too long. I was thinking of the new Passport S-2 cordless. It has about the same range of the 8500 and I could easily transport it from my company car to my Mini and I would not have to worry about hardwiring 2 vehicles.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Car cover. Radar detectors are a waste. Ask a cop...

I, for one, would go with the car cover. Considering the hoops you jumped through to get the car, do you really want something to happen to it? Now weigh that against a speeding ticket. Kind of inconsequential, especially if you have not had a ticket in a while and can get supervision. Also, I agree with 2Minis' statement.

If you do decide to go with a radar detector, the V-1 is getting a lot of good comments on MCO.

Peace. Out.

If you are not planning on getting a Valentine One (V1), then you should not waste your money on anything other than a car-cover.

Blemishes in the body work are more easily erased than points against your license.

Which is more imortant to you? a good looking car, or one that you can legally drive
