Someone please test this?

On a mini without comfort access, take the key out and within 10 second press the start button?

Does it start and run?

Turn engine off > take key out > 2 seconds later pressed the start/stop button twice (with brakes & clutch depressed) -->
I could get just the ignition to go on - but couldn't crank the engine

You can also hold the start/stop button down for a longer period and it will turn everything off just by pushing it once.

If i recall this also works on no comforat access cars.

1. Car running
2. Press Button and remove key (car is stopped)
3. Clutch in and press button, car starts (no key) as long as i don't open a door.

Nope... remove key (fob) and press start button... nothing; remove key and press clutch in and press start button...nothing; remove key and press clutch in and press on brake and press start button...nothing.
I have a 08 MCS manual tranny

MCa without Comfort Access; Engine running xmisson in Park, press [start] engine turns off and remove Key/Fob.

Before opening door, foot on brake and press [start] and engine starts, you can now leave the car with engine running and Key/Fob in your hand.

Expect that there is a time limit (seconds) allowed for the re-start and you are likely not able to repeat before inserting Key/Fob again,
so don't drive away without it.

Works on my 6/07 mcs non-comfort assist. That's pretty nifty. Would be a decently safe way to get it warmed up in the cold.

Apple, you know you could just remove the solid key from the fob to get to anything on the chain. It would save a little wear and tear as you don't have to shut the car off and then start it again.
