Just read where the Diesel will hit the US in 2010. Now were talking serious fuel savings. Also the long gevity of the diesel versus gas and the low maintenance upkeep. I love diesels, sound smell and performance and easy to soup up!
Has there been any more info on the Crossover.
Jenn is starting to think about replacing her 2003 Cooper S (just approaching 100k now) and was thinking of abandoning the Cooper for something with 4 doors (WRX, 330Xi etc). But a car like the Crossover concept Mini could keep her in her beloved marque.

LOL, I guess that's kinda the only way I've ever gotten my hands on one lol...
The Crossover concept is showcased in Barcelona right now.
Thanks for posting that, specifically
The MINI Crossover Concept car is a true MINI (has great steering, dependable, beautiful) and a peek into the future. By tweaking and making the most of their creative space the designers have managed to include four-wheel drive, four side-doors and four individually adjustable single seats and more room (more than 4 meters to be exact). The inspiration behind this change in design is to offer an even broader lifestyle to the MINI driver.
PRECISELY why we're looking at it.

I still don't trust the concept vehicle, especially after the experience ogling the 2004 series of concept cars and seeing the redesign results of R56 (which I do love, I must say). It's just the natural difference between a one-off, over-the-top concept car and a production model that one can actually live with. I'm still not sure what is fact and what is fiction here.

One thing I notice is the link to a Mini website where they say this vehicle will be over 4 meters in overall length (more than the 157" of the Clubman, which is the first I've heard that, early reports were giving it the same overall length of the Clubman). So the question will remain HOW MUCH MORE. Hopefully not much.
If I had to predict, I'd say the moonroof, and door configuration would change, as well as that globe thing.
But we won't know for sure until they release more info.
Kev
Nothing has been confirmed.
Some dealers have said 2011 - but I ASSume they mean M/Y 2011 which would be sometime in mid-to-late 2010.
But that seems like an awful long lead time for a manufacturer to be showing concepts on their website. So I'm optimistic enough to think MAYBE, JUST MAYBE 2010 M/Y??? (then again that would be this summer, so I doubt it).
