Tom Tom Go 920 Suction Cup to Speedo?
I put this in the wrong thread. I had been reading about the Kuda Mount here and had this question. I re-posted in the Audio Nav Forum. Sorry.
I have a Tom Tom Go 920. I have it mounted to the windshield, but it is in the line of sight for shorter drivers. I have tried to push it on to the right hand side of the speedo, but have not been able to get it to stick. It will stick for a while then fall off. (Not good for the GPS!)
The Tom Tom suction cut is a one with circular plastic sprin tabs over the cup and takes pressure to get it to seal. I'm afraid of pushing harder for fear of breaking the speedo plastic face.
Has anyone gotten the suction mount to stick on the speedo and do you have any tricks? I DON'T want to break that plastic that covers the speedo. I know a Kuda mount would solve everything, but I want the GPS to travel between our cars.

When I first got my Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS I attached it with the included suction cup mount to the upper right corner of the speedo.I was a bit hesitant too about breaking the plastic speedo face because the suction cup has a lock level that you have to put some pressure on but it worked great.I bought and installed the Kuda mount afterwards and use that now.
Just make sure the speedo plastic face and suction cup are clean first to avoid any possible scratches.

I regularly mount my Garmin 755T on the NE quadrant of the speedo, then take it off when parked. Never a problem, either with mounting/dismounting, the speedo glass or with remaining securely attached when driving. I assume your TomTom has a similar lever-lock on the suction cup to secure the attachment, n'est-ce pas? If not, you might try wetting the suction cup with a little diluted dishwashing soap for a better seal. It needs to be quite air-tight.

I'll try the dishwashing soap trick and let you know after a day.
I have a Garmin bean-bag that works just fine.
I'm wondering if the Tom Tom company has anything like the Garmin bean-bag. I just stick it on top of the dash and it works just fine with my Nuvi350. It is so easy to use even a "CAVEMAN" can use it.

Maybe this CAVEMAN should have bought a Garmin.
Wetting the cup did not work either. The cup is larger than the lever-loc cups I've had. Maybe the curvature of the speedo glass has something to do with it.

Yes. I will do that. All I did was take the attachment plate that came with the GARMIN (the one with the stickey backing that is used for the dash) and atached it to the back of the space below the switches. Then I attached the suction cup to that. The grip is strong and it remains in pace just fine.

Do you have a TomTom? I can stick my wife's Magellan (with a thumb-lock suction cut)on the speedo with no problem.

It attaches to the back of the tach with a "W" bracket I believe and then this mount attaches to it. Completely reversable and can adjust for wheel height and glare.
They also say that it is coming out for the Tom Tom soon.
I like the left hand side mount and I can add a pod later if it want.
Check out this mount: http://www.cravenspeed.com/index.php...ID=7&offset=40
