Interior/Exterior Silicon Engine Tubes, Etc.
Silicon Engine Tubes, Etc.
Not quite sure on how to formulate this question.........
Looking around the forums and going to car shows, you see peps with beautiful engine bays. They have their wires and tubes in almost every color, I understand a good majority of this is high-temp engine paint.
But, is there a way to paint the tubes as well? Or do you have to do a ton of research and try to find tubing in the color you want and then cut/customize your own?
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I am kinda new to all of this.

I know ALTA offers colored kits and what not, but what if you don't like those colors and want a different color? I've only seen black, blue and red.... And am not really interested in those colors.

i have never been a fan of Silicon in the engine bay since the most common use for it is beach sand...and it's a MESS to get out of ANYTHING.
Now SILICONE is a different story..
Sorry but this is one of my pet peeves. If you want silicon, get a quartz crystal and hang it from the mirror.

I have done some paint work on my engine. On everything but the rubber intake tube it has held up very well for the past 2 years. Since I have a Cooper and an Automatic and a Cabrio - no one bothers making silicone intakes for us and paint is one of my few options. I've used high-temp as well as regular color matched spray paint and neither holds up well. I'm sure it has to do more with the paint adhering to the rubber then the heat.

If anyone comes up with a solution let me know.
