Snow tires and runflat - good combo?

I know runflats are not popular around here, I pulled them off my MY08 as soon as I took delivery. But what about runflat snow tires? Snow tire ride and performance is going to be compromised by design, are the runflat options significantly worse? The last thing I want to deal with in the winter is a flat tire.

I'm thinking about the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D which TR has for $112 in stock 16 size. I live in southern MA, the car will see cold, slushy, sometimes white roads but it will not be venturing into the real winter world up north.

Thoughts?

+1 on this. I have my winter wheels but am still not sure on the tires. I'm leaning towards a set of Blizzaks myself.

what about runflat snow tires?
Of the runflats, its a toss up between LM25 and 3D ROF

Dunlops favor powder - Bridgstones favor dry, wet and slush.

I've heard that the Blizzak life is pretty short. Bridgestone themselves say 12k-15k miles. How about the Dunlops?

I had OEM winter tires on my R53 for the first two winters I was in Germany ('06 and '07).

Only problem? Speed limited at 130 mph.

They ran fine. They ran great. No issues.

Not sexy, I know, but solid performers.....

My $.02

I don't have experience in the snow with them yet, but I went ahead and ordered the Blizzak LM-25 RFT tires.

I too didn't want to deal with changing flats in the winter.

OEM size on my R110 Pace wheels (summer tires on R112 wheels)
