RUN FLAT - Its not a nail, but it did give me a flat.

I parked my car and got out. I heard a hissing sound and im like oh its nothing. Then i figured i would check it out because it would suck for the person next to me to have a flat tire. Then i got closer and the hissing was coming from my car. I looked down and this is what i saw.

Is this repairable or should i consider this run crap bye bye?

Should be easily repairable. Looks like a staple, so punctures are small and it's near the center, not the sidewall. You still have a good amount of tread left, may as well wear the runflats out before replacing.

It was definitly not a staple haha. It is literally a chunk of metal. I hope its repairable like you said.

It's definitely more of a problem if that is a chunk of metal. Repair option will depend on how much damage it did to the inner cords.

like rkw said, if the cords are badly damaged it might not be, but the fact that it is in the center is very good as far as the prospect of getting it fixed goes. Dont let the tire shops feed you any BS about RF's not being repairable, they are.

As long as no damaged was incurred due to low air pressure as a result of the puncture.

Thank you everyone for your input. My family friend's autoshop is taking care of it now as well as new brake pads.

I dont think it should be a problem. I drove 7km from when i got in my car, and parked (where it occurred), and then 7km home when it was flat.

Honestly the only way to know is to dismount the tire and inspect the innerliner's conditon. Smooth = A OK.
