Molding in the hood scoop
So I want to mold the hood scoop into the hood. I'm just curious if anybody else has done this to an R56 and what kind of expense I should be looking to pay to have it done right. I think we can all agree that removing the seams around the hood scoop would make it look ridiculously clean.

If someone has done it (to either an R56 or an R53), what should I recommend for filler to be used? Thanks!

Gnatster did this on his R53, along with a badge delete up there on the bonnet. I think that I'd do one or the other, but not both on my car... too naked without one of 'em for my look. It works on his car, though.
Did you also order the liner?
I have the M7 heatshield, with liner. I haven't done the technical tests, but it seems to make a big difference.

Mostly seems racing part suppliers can provide them.

I think I've seen some discussion in some thread, but this one link I just looked up:

aright, i work a lot with carbon fibre and fiber glass, mostly on power plants and what not, but would be happy to walk anyone through with what theyd need to fill out the lines on the scoop. Its an easy enough job, wouldnt take half an hour. Just havin it sprayeds the problem, or not depends really if you have a paint shop.
CF hoods are a bit tricky, there easy enough to make, but folks specializing in the manufacture of CF products can order a great deal of it in bulk at pretty low costs, resins and catalysts etc. Buying all the materials yourself is pretty pricey, works out you may aswell get someone else to do it, costs the same, plus your not having to **** about with nightmare chemicals and CF.
Cheers.
