Help Me Pick Roof Stripes

I was just messing around with some pictures and thought it would be cool to add some kind of roof stripes to the mini. I have 3 options that I created and was curious what everyone thought. Here are the pics: (Excuse the crudeness, I don't have photoshop and had to use Paint.)

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

I couldn't figure out how to create a forum poll. Thanks for the input.

my 2 cents....

i would leave out the stripes on the roof. i think the white roof with sunroof looks just perfectly clean.

the stripes just look too busy for me. bonnet is enough.

hope this helps.

If you have your heart set on more stripes, I'd go with the white on the sunroof panel (idea #1). Yes, it's a bit "busy" looking and may be overkill in the stripes department, but I've seen much worse. Besides, who am I to be critical of someone's art?

BTW: love the RAF roundel grille badge! I have one of those myself.

I completely agree, money better spent elsewhere.

Thanks for the input. I'm not set on roof stripes, just thought I'd mess around and see what they would look like. I think I'll skip it, there are always other things I can buy.

I love my RAF badge.

I agree with the white sunroof as well. gives a much more unison look!! BTW, because you already have the bonnent stripes, I would go with spaced roof stripes to match, if your going to do any roof stripes at all. The others are more of a sport stripe style, and clash with the bonnet stripes... my .02!!

I'm initial reaction was "go for it", as I've done stripes across the sunroof as well.

Then, upon reflection, I don't think we're talking apples-to-apples. With the black roof on my car, the sunroof glass almost blends in. As others have pointed out, things are different with a white roof.

Secondly, you've got the bonnet stripes. If you ditch them in favor of sport stripes then you could do the whole "MINI Challenge Racer" look with the reverse stripes on the roof - but you'd still have the obvious contrast of "black" glass and white roof.

I like (and have) the Challenge stripe theme, but it isn't going to work as well with a sunroof.

I also think the sport stripes on the roof will look awkward with the factory bonnet stripes. You would need to replace those with the bonnet sport stripes as well.

RaceTripper - looks great

QZ - the other thing I've seen done is to add a vinyl piece on top of your sunroof (making it opaque) so that it looks white. Stripes can be sublimated into the graphic.

Here's "giantjoe's" as an example (and I believe his is perforated vinyl):

Cons:
1) you lose the light thru the glass
2) you'd still need to swap the bonnet stripes for sport stripes (a la RaceTripper)

Where do you get a set of the sport stripes such as this? I guess the loca vinyl place could do it.

Hey FB! A fellow Albertan!!

Any local vinyl/signage shop can do it. You just need to find one where you're happy with the workmanship...

Good luck! Maybe we'll see you on some of the combined Calgary/Edmonton runs (like we just had earlier this month)?
