New single tire, where to put it?
Conventional wisdom is to put your better tire(s) on the back, as it's preferable to lose traction with the front wheels and understeer a little bit than to lose traction on the rear wheels and have the back end come around on you.

I'd also start the new one on the back then rotate after 5K to the front. I for one would replace tires in pairs, fronts/rears, to keep the same tread value on both sides, but thats just me.
I'd buy 2 tires and mount 'em both in the same place, fore or aft. If you are due for the other 2 to be replaced, put the new ones in the back, drive the fronts bald and then put new ones in the back and rotate the others to the front.
It is safer to put it in the back in and in pairs as suggested by a number of folks already. If you are still in doubt, look up the tire manufacturer's website as well for more info on this. This is just one of them but they are all consistent in their recommendations.

I would normally agree about in pairs but we are not talking about some really old tires. 7/32 is well over half the tread remaining.
