hi All,

I am getting ready to order my DS/DS 04 MCS in the next week. I am thinking about options and was wondering if everything that is an add on has an installation cost. In other words if I get the driving lights I know they will have a cost for installation (about what is that cost?)....so I am wondering about things like the front fog lights and xenons...do things like that also cost for install or am I not thinking about this right?

Thanks,
Tammy

Hi,

It's my understanding that anything that is a Dealer installed option will typically require an installation fee which will vary depending on the item. I was estimated about $400 for the driving lights when I orderer (and therefore did not get them). Any options from the factory are done while building the car so do not cost anything additional for installation–Xenons fall under this category.

When you build the car on MINIusa or wherever, anything up to step four in basically 'Free' installation. Step 5 is where additional costs come in. I believe there is a disclaimer actually on the site when you start to add things in step 5.

Hope this clarifies things for you!
Good luck,
Matt

Front fog lights and Xenons are factory installed options, no installation charge. Driving lights I believe are a dealer installed accessory, complete with installation charge. If you're looking at build your own MINI on MINIUSA.com the items listed as accessories are dealer add on with dealer installation charges, everything else is factory installed with no extra change for installation.

If I'm wrong about some of this I'm sure they'll be plenty of post to correct me. Just trying to help.
