Coolant leak in my '05 MCS, 80,224 miles
Ramblings on a coolant leak.
For pareto data tracking (do we "track" that here on NAM??) anyway... my coolant leak was from the thermostat housing. Prestige MINI determined this by performing a pressure test. They replaced the housing and the thermostat and did a full flush on the system. They then took the car for test drive and then noticed that the control arm bushings were worn. Gone. They replaced them too! I like the proactive approach! Total bill without the extended warranty: $911.24... thankfully I bought the 100K extended warranty on date of purchase and it all cost me $124.00. So far it's paying off... only 20,000 miles left though. Ugh.
The handling feels great with the new bushings and I have piece o' mind on the cooling system. Now for the serpentine belt and supercharger thoughts that plague my pee brain.
lol...
