F1 GS D3 Review

I just replaced my BFG KDW2's with F1 GS D3's. The goodyears have noticeably better traction. The sidewalls seem a little softer than the KDW's but not overly soft. Turn in crispness I would say is a notch less but it is barely noticeable.

Where are your GSD3s made? Date of manufactor? (look on the sidewall for a four digit number like 0508 which means 5th week of 2008.)

What about any difference on road noise? KDW2s are known to be loud.

Better traction with new tires might be due to the KDW2s getting worn or old (hard rubber).

I think the tires are from 2006 and they are made in Germany. I spoke with Alex at tire rack regarding the date and he assured me that I should not be worried about the date of the tire that I get from tire rack as they store the tires in such a way that the rubber is not compromised by age. My KDW's were extremely loud. I believe the KDW's were about 1 year old. They were on the car when I bought them and they looked new, so I doubt the rubber was "hard" due to age. I would definately say that these tire stick better than the KDW2's, Alex also agreed. The only real draw back, if you want to call it that, is the sidewall is a little softer than the KDW's. Very very very slight difference almost not noticable at all. I could see in a heavier car this might be a problem, but with a 2500lb stripped MCS I dont think its a very big deal. I havent experimented with tire psi yet, but inflating a couple more lbs might even get rid of most of it. Another observation is that the tire seems to be a little wider than the KDW's as well.
