I had a nice drive home last night...
Had a crappy day at work and it continued until 8PM. I was the last car in the parking lot. I was tired, hungry and thristy and just wanted to get home. My commute is about 45 minutes long. Traffic was light as I merged into traffic. I picked up speed and then merged onto the interstate highway.
As soon as I was up to speed. I noticed a BMW behind me. It was a newer 5 series. I slid over to let him pass and thats when the fun began. I followed in his slipstream.
We traded first place spots all the way home. Nothing crazy but it was spirited driving. We respectfully worked our way through traffic, finding the openings and making the lane changes. I had no trouble keeping up with him or passing him with authority. He did the same. I shadowed him for a bit, keeping position as he accelerated. Letting him know I was still there and not backing down one bit. I would lose him in traffic sometimes and he would lose me. But eventually we paired up again.
We had fun for about 30 miles. The miles clicked over quickly. Before I knew it, we parted and headed down different roads.
Since he is a BMW owner, I'm sure he is aware of the MINI brand. If he doesn't know about MINI, I'm sure he does now.
Its awe inspiring when the conditions are right and you find that perfect driving partner. It makes your $hitty day just melt away.
I hope I find him again.

What a beautiful story. Seems like finding someone who simply appreciates a good drive is hard to find. 99 out of 100 of the people you run across just want to race off the line. It's nice to find someone who just appreciates the "spirited driving" as you called it.
I hope you find him again...

My husband thinks I'm nuts when I tell him about experiences like this...but BOY does it make that day worth all the hassle! Hope you meet up again for more fun.

That is awesome to here. It is great when you find someone friendly that just wants to drive. Most of the times that happens and you can see the other person and they look pissed/angry so it takes the fun out of it. That should be another selling point on the MINI is "it"ll turn your crappy day good"
