Hello People,

I'm in the L.A. Ca. area and NEED someone to install a pulley on my "S", does anybody have a good place in mind? and at what cost?

It also seams like every person has there likes and dislikes on the pulley's, So is one pulley as good as the next? Alta?

Thanks in advance,

Lanny

I think that all of the available pulleys are esentially the same. People have posted that the weight of the Alta makes a difference or that the heated hub of the Helix13/P&D is could cause problems. I really don't think so. The weight of a very small pulley will have no detectable effect on the performance of the engine, and there has never been any evidence that heating the hub will actually damage anything (it is, after all, how Eaton--the factory supplier--puts them on).

The trick is to find a reliable, experienced installer to put it on for you. Try giving Randy or Helix13 a call: between the two of them, they've done a few.

Just to clarify a common misconception - Eaton presses the pulley onto the shaft while the unit is still in the assembly process and the shaft is out of the unit. No heat is involved while the unit is together.

I have had a couple folks drive out from LA to Denver - then we head over to the track for some driver school fun the next day. You would be welcome here...

I did install a 3 pice pully on my MCS , and no problem sofar .

I did 2 so far had no problems yet . got the pully from mini mania, bot car ran rich at top end ,was running at 9.5 co. after i put software on it ,now is running at 11.5 co
car runs good , got 271 tq @ 50mph and 191hp at flywheel.

I work in a shop ,we are in pomona if you want send me e-mail .

we do it on the car , the old pully need to be cut open the 3 pice pully bolts on it.

I think if pully be press on the shaft is better but this way is cheeper and so far so good.

I had mine done at Johnnie's Autowork in San Pedro... nice guy and he claimed to have done quite a few.... I had it done about 4,000 miles ago and had not had any problems. You can reach them at (310) 521 0330. Another group you should check out if you are in the West LA area is Meridian Autoworks. Also great guys and reasonably priced too. They did my short shift and Powerchip ECU upgrade. Go to their web-site for more info at Meridianonline.com
