Arizona Mini Owners proudly announce:
A MINI Vacation in Vegas 2004
Friday February 6th, 2004 - Sunday February 8th, 2004
Las Vegas, Nevada

Hello fellow Mini/MINI owners!

For a couple months now there have been rumors going around the Internet of a huge gathering of Mini/MINIs in Las Vegas, NV. This is to inform you this event is an official Arizona Mini Owners (AMO) event. AMO club membership is not required to participate. Both classic Minis and new MINIs are welcome! Each participant is responsible for their own expenses, including, but not limited to, gasoline, lodging, meals, tolls, park fees, show admission, etc.

The fun is starting Friday February 6th, 2004 and continuing thru Sunday February 9th, 2004. Turn this event into your family vacation. Make new acquaintances. Make it a long weekend of fun.

This is not your typical gathering in Vegas. There will be no key-note speaker, no name-tags, or the things you associate with conventions in Vegas. The Mini owners I know are much too relaxed to put up with that. What there will be is plenty of group motoring activities and tons of great company amoungst Mini owners! Schedules will be flexible. This is supposed to be fun, right? Remember, there’s something for everyone in Vegas! In addition to things to do while in Vegas, other activities may include group picnics, drives to local attractions and some fun site-seeing drives.

Group rate accommodations have been arranged for this event at the Stardust Resort & Casino for only $75.00 per night for Friday and Saturday nights. This is an excellent rate for a hotel right on The Strip! Thursday and Sunday nights will be at non-peak rates meaning they will be much lower. You will need to make your own reservations by calling 1-800-634-6757 and mention group code “MINI206”. The cut-off date is January 7th, 2004 to make reservations under this group code. Room tax, telephone, energy surcharge, and other charges may apply. When making your reservations your credit card will be charged immediately for the first nights stay. This is to secure your room. You can cancel your reservation up until 48 hours prior to arrival time, but there is a cancellation penalty. If there are fewer than 15 rooms rented per night for either Friday night or Saturday night, they will remove the discount for everyone. Be sure you understand Stardust’s reservation policies prior to making your reservation. You are not required to stay at the Stardust for this event. Feel free to make your own accommodations. However, all fun-runs will start from the Stardust’s parking lot. There are some off-Strip hotels that aren't as cool as the Stardust, but may have a better price. Contact agro@ragingbull.com for further details.

We encourage regional Mini clubs organize their own group drives to and from Las Vegas. Contact your local club to get the ball rolling, or if you don’t have a local club, I'm sure you can find other like-minded Mini/MINI owners to motor with from your location. It’s been rumored that people as far away as Florida are planning to motor out to Las Vegas for this event! Don’t miss out.

Happy Motoring!

Just wanted to announce a new look to the site. There are new pages including contacting other people leaving from your area, a page listing clubs who are organizing their own group drive to and from Vegas, etc...

Check it out!

Let me know if I can be of assistance in any way. info@aMiniVacationInVegas.com

Hello all, just wanted to give a quick update on happenings so far...

Getting a decent response from clubs from around North America. Seeing that it's only been 9 days since the official word on this came out this is pretty good!

The site has been indexed by most of the major search engines...just type in Mini Cooper Vacation or MINI Vacation In Vegas and it is listed on the first page (Yahoo, Google, AOL, MSN). Thanks for the linking to my site

So far five clubs have said they're organizing their own group runs from their location to Las Vegas.

It's starting to get real exciting!

Would any vendors like to participate or assist? If you think you might have something to offer for this grand event, email me at info@aMiniVacationInVegas.com with the subject line of "vendor offering assistance". This may be a great chance for you to promo your company to hundreds of classic Mini and new MINI owners!

Happy Motoring!

It's been a couple of weeks since I last updated this thread. So I figured I'd give it a bump.

Remember, only three more months to be able to get in on the group rate at the Star Dust motel... You'll need to call them to set up your reservatios. See the site for details. But remember, you don't have to stay at the Star Dust to be part of the event. Stay where ever your heart desires. Just come on out and have a blast!

Hello iLoveMotoring! Welcome to the MCO.

As far as I'm aware, we're getting exclusive use (i.e. only Minis and MINIs) of the track all day, they'll feed you lunch and you also get a shirt. As far as I've been able to tell, the price NorCal MINIs came up with is right in line with a lot of other racing events.

Also, that's a real nice facility! some of us SCMM'er were out there for 2 days and it was excellent! 175 is a bit of money, but I'd probably pay it

It also looks like Randy is going to be doing a pulley install event here in Vegas during the MINI Vacation. I have no other details, check out the Performance Mods forum if you're interested.

This is your one month reminder...the cut-off for reservations under the group code is January 7th.

rfibanez, could you have Doug email me at info@aminivacationinvegas.com? I've been trying to contact him via his yahoo email and have not had any success for nearly two months now.

See you all in Vegas!

Great News!!

I can say that the A Mini Vacation In Vegas 2004 event is in no danger of being canceled for lack of insurance. There's a 99% probability that insurance for the club will be in place in time to cover the club. I also have a failsafe plan if the club is unable to obtain insurance. In other words, "the show will go on". BTW, you have less than two weeks to make you group rate hotel reservations.

I want to thank all of those of you who've been involved in assisting me in getting this resolved.

Again, Thank you for your understanding and patience of this situation.

To help better understand the scope of the event, I invite you to participate in a survey.

This survey will be used to determine interest level of various activities. Without knowing the numbers, it has been difficult to find vendors or clubs willing to help out by organizing events for the weekend.

Please take the survey now at:
http://www.aminivacationinvegas.com/survey.php

Thank you.

This email is to notify you that you have until tomorrow the 7th, to take advantage of the group rate at the Stardust. The rooms have filled up fast in the East tower. I checked yesterday with the Stardust and they only have less than a handful of rooms left in the East tower. When those fill-up, there is also the option of staying in the slightly more expensive West tower of the Stardust. Be sure to ask about this when calling.

I also had the opportunity over the weekend to scout out the various fun-runs. Since I don't live in Vegas, I didn't have a good idea as to how long and where to go so I had locals suggest to me various places of interest. My wife and I motored each and every one of them over this last weekend and all I can say is "Wow!". I never knew so much beauty existed around Las Vegas...and it's really close too. I have two "extra" fun-runs that I'd like to add to the schedule. One for Friday and one for Sunday afternoon. However, on Friday I will be motoring up with Arizona Mini Owners. Does anyone want to be in charge of running a Friday fun-run? Let me know if you're interested

Dominic,

Is the track time off for sure? did we just not have enough people sign up?
